Toho

Is it the body that houses the talent? Is it the soul? This production is based on the profound theme of “Is it the body or the soul that possesses talent? The hit musical by the golden duo of Michael Kunze (script and lyrics) and Sylvester Levi (music and arrangements) will be staged for the first time in three years since 2021.
Story

Leopold Mozart, a musician at the Salzburg court, and his daughter Nanneret are in a nobleman’s house where the most distinguished people gather to watch their young son play the piano. He was called “the miracle child.
The years have passed, and Wolfgang continues his musical activities in his hometown of Salzburg. Amade, the incarnation of talent,” as he was called when he was a miracle child, is always by his side, busying himself with his compositions. However, the young Wolfgang was tired of composing music in the service of Archbishop Koroledo, the lord of Salzburg. He clashed with his father, who told him not to defy the archbishop. Finally, he explodes in anger at the archbishop for constraining him.

Wolfgang left Salzburg with his mother for fame and musical freedom, but he was less fortunate than a child. On the contrary, he runs out of money and loses his mother on the trip. Wolfgang returned home disappointed, and with the help of Baroness Waldstetten, who had recognized his musical talent from an early age, he renewed his determination to pursue his musical career in Vienna. Wolfgang moves to Vienna, where he quickly develops an affection for Constanze, the daughter of an acquaintance of the Weber family. However, Archbishop Koroledo’s intrigues cut off every opportunity for him to perform. Wolfgang confronts the archbishop again, and their relationship finally breaks down.
After the rupture with the archbishop, Wolfgang becomes the talk of Vienna’s social circles. He married Constanze and worked hard, and Wolfgang’s father and sister, whom he had left behind back home, became less and less important to him. Leopold is proud of his son’s success, but at the same time, he senses his hubris. Wolfgang, however, refuses to listen to his father’s bitter words. The two never had a heart-to-heart talk, and Leopold left Vienna.
Wolfgang is at the peak of his musical career after the success of his opera “The Magic Flute” when a mysterious figure appears before him and asks him to compose a requiem…
